			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt" lang="EN-US">The Red Cross symbol was declared at the 1864 Geneva Convention as the symbol of protection.<span>  </span>It is the opposite of the Swiss flag in honor of the Swiss founder Henry Dunant.<span>  </span>The Red Cross is a protection symbol for the wounded and sick for armed forces in the field.<span>  </span>The Red Cross must be recognized as a protection symbol in conflict and it is used by almost 200 national societies today.<span>  </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt" lang="EN-US">The visual symbol of the Red Cross serves as protective markings and it is also used as a logo to recognize the Red Cross as the Red Cross.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt" lang="EN-US">When the Red Cross symbol is being used as a protection symbol, it is used in armed conflicts marking people, buildings, vehicles, and sites that work with the Geneva Conventions.<span>  </span>They can be used as hospital facilities, emergency vehicles to provide emergency transport, help for all civilians, and civil defense units.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt" lang="EN-US">When the Red Cross symbol is being used as a protection symbol it should be prominently displayed and not changed or altered in anyway.<span>  </span>The symbol should be as visible as possible.<span>  </span>This is extremely important during times of war because emergency personnel don’t want to be mistaken or involved in any of the cross fire when they are trying to provide medical services to the injured.<span>  </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt" lang="EN-US">The Geneva Convention protects Red Cross workers from being attacked.<span>  </span>Under this law, the Red Cross symbol can mean Don’t shoot! and Don’t attack!<span>  </span>This symbol is easy to draw or the flag is easy to create in case a red cross symbol flag is not available.<span>  </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt" lang="EN-US">If an enemy was to misuse a protective sign to get close and then open fire behind the Red Cross symbol and trick the opponent in war, that is punishable by law.<span>  </span>Any misuse of the Red Cross symbol is against the law.<span>  </span>Violators will be punished under the International Humanitarian Law and all countries who have agreed to the treaties associated with the Geneva Convention.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt" lang="EN-US">The Red Cross symbol has been around for almost 150 years and serves as a symbol of protection and a safety zone.<span>  </span>This symbol is a part of the pact of the Geneva Convention and people are protected against misuse of the symbol.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
